time.
since being a student, and working takes a lot of time. i decided i am going to carry my camera around with my more. So when i am doing random stuff, i can take more pictures. On monday i had a morning class, and a night class. Carrie finished school at about 4, and we decided we should hang out. and then after that we went for supper, and hit up superstore- to buy candy for class. WE bought alot of candy. As we were walking out there was a huge line of shopping cars, half way into the road. I saw them, and thought they looked interesting. So.. i took a picture.

its been a lazy day.
Wow, its amazing how you can change your mood by what you put into your day. For example: today i had one class this morning, and i have one tonight. I have done nothing since that class, started to read...got bored, started to take pictures...nothing worked out. Now my mood is just like BLAH, and i have to go back to school soon to learn about the stars. Funny how one day you can be bored outta your mind, lazy, feel like you have no purpose, but then the next day you do somthing great, get a good mark back, make something beautiful, do a good job at work and you feel great! Really though you are the same person, so who are you really? the lazy one, or the meaningful one? I think that the answer is up to you. After having "photographers block" (similar to writers block) i felt decent about myself after making this image.

What do you do when you cant sleep?
wow. its super late. but i CANT SLEEP. I must have drinken too much diet coke. I am like a child the caffeine keeps me up. I also can NOT drink hot drinks... i burn my tongue sooo bad. I just found out yesterday that one of my friends has the same problem, hot liquids or off the menu for us. i have been doing photography again! School is light right now so it makes for time for pictures which is super nice! I have kinda been trying to blend styles a bit. One day January 10th to be exact, i sat in my basement trying to light random objects nicely. I kinda did my classic lighting scheme, with the dark background, but instead of having the key light behind the subject, i had it in front, above and to camera left. Then i threw another light to the back of the object, but also to the left. Then a reflector was placed to the right of the object. These two pictures were taken with very similar lighting schemes/ very little pp.

Video
so its been a while since i have written a blog, papers came, then finals, then christmas! For christmas a got a little video camera, and i got out to cop for about an hour. Because i wanted to snowboard, i only took videos on the way up the lift, or standing in the lift line. I was actually quite happy with the little camera, even though its a cheapy. Not all the shots in this video are great, or even good for that matter, but i had some fun trying a different form of media. I think that i could learn alot from doing videos, and hopefully (if i continue to make them) they will get better. Heres the movie i made.

around school.

things are really starting to settle in at school. Lots of papers to write, exams to study for, and books to read from. Its a lot of fun, but also lots of work. One thing i am trying this year that i did not last year is the photography club. So far we have had one meeting, and there is a bit of a competition, to take the best pictures around the campus. I have some good ideas but only took a few pictures the other night, i need to go out again sometime and shoot. I liked all the lines on this one.

Volley Ball
Its been a while, school is getting busy, lots of reading, papers, and midterms. After studying all day yesterday i finally got out of the books and went to the home opener volley ball game last night. Pretty fun, although the girls lost, the guys won. Volley ball is not really the type thing i like to shoot, there really a photo journalistic type style photography to it. You cant ask the subject to move where you want, or just redo that last move. Usually you just let whats going on continue to go on without interfering and try to just record the events...not really my style. I see myself as a perfectionist and like to go for a picture i REALLY like. any how. heres my favorite from last night.
